Everyone has heard of the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan at Mevagissey, but Cornwall has much more to offer than exotic flora and fauna. There are too many famous places to list here, but we must mention Padstow, made famous recently by Rick Stein and his restaurant, Newquay, mecca for surfers from all over the UK, beautiful Harlyn Bay in the north of the county, Looe with its fabulous fishing harbour, the rugged Lizard peninsula and St Ives Bay with the added attraction of the world famous Tate gallery. Cornwall has enjoyed a resurgence of popularity in the last decade but has never truly gone out of fashion for good old fashioned family holidays.
